FAQS

Our line of work usually leaves clients full of questions. To make sure that we not only provide reliable service, we want to make sure you get your answers. Here are some common questions we hear in our line of work.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
  • Is it better to repair drywall as a DIY project or hire a professional?

If you already have all the necessary tools on hand and you are an enthusiastic DIYer, you could certainly take on the repair yourself. On the other hand, you may prefer to save time and hassle by turning the job over to a reliable handyman who has experience in the field of drywall repair.

  • Should I have my drywall repaired or do a complete replacement?

The answer is a decisive "it depends." A small crack or minor damage such as "nail pops" -- meaning nail heads that have pulled away from the wall studs and are popping through the drywall -- is fast and simple to repair. In the case of a large hole or a serious problem like heavy mold infestation, where the spores may have spread throughout the drywall, replacement is usually the best option. (And be sure to clear up the source of that mold while you're at it! If not, you'll just end up with more damaged drywall.)

  • How long does it take to build a deck?

Based on the size of your deck, an average project may take anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks. Larger projects may take longer.

  • How do I care for my deck after it's installed?

Shortly after your wood deck is built, (30 days in summer, longer in cooler months) you will need to seal the deck with a high quality wood sealer. This can also provide a finish with color for the deck since the stain and sealer are the same color. After that, we recommend staining and sealing your deck on an annual basis. MFG Sealant is a manufacturer of a great deck sealer that we often use and recommend.

  • How long does wood siding last?

Homeowners can expect their wood siding to last for decades with the application of a suitable finish and proper maintenance. No matter the species or style, avoid letting wood siding come in contact with the ground, as this can shorten its lifespan. Many manufacturers offer warranties in the 10-25 year range to guarantee the wood siding’s quality under normal conditions.

We understand what it takes to clean even the most difficult surfaces. There are many reasons to hire a professional to paint your home or office. Rather than hassling with ladders, toxic fumes, and messy clean up, hire professional painters to get the project done quickly and skillfully!

  • How long does a job take?

The length of a project varies. Most of the residential painting we do can be completed in less than a week, however we also have jobs which take upwards of two weeks. Commercial painting projects can take longer depending on the size of the building(s). Throughout the entire project, we make sure to keep you very informed of the timeline. If we think the project may take longer than expected, we let you know right away.
